I love Palm Desert, my younger sister and I go to Palm Desert every year around November to do Christmas shopping at Macy's at the mall love it. I live by Brea Mall, but It is not like it used to be. I also go to South Coast Plaza that is high-end. My 401-K has been going up like crazy. So I am saving to buy a house out there. I keep telling my father that I have been looking in Las Vegas and he says why. I had an uncle who lived in banning but when he was alive my father and him used to have dinner in Palm Desert. My father loves Palm Desert and keeps telling to buy out there. Thanks Tommy: I am retired and been traveling to Rancho Mirage (Agua Caliente Hotel) and in March just got back from GDL= Guadalajara, Mexico. That City is beautiful. I have a co-worker who retired there, and I was with him for a week. The Homes with pools are Magnificent out there. I Loved it and the people are very welcoming. You are correct Tommy. I have cousins that grew up in East Los Angeles. and West Los Angeles. They were in gangs and wound up in Prison. Even my best friend in High School was close to my family and later in life hung around with a gang. Now locked up, my father even wrote a letter to the judge before his sentencing saying what a great student and athlete he was. He was involved in a drive by and now I am tearing up. I never wanted to be another statistic being in a Latino gang. So, I worked hard all my life and sometimes I worked 2 jobs @ 7 days a week and kept my head on straight and of the streets.

I used to hang out back in the 80's on Melrose Ave. in Hollywood and the city of Santa Monica. Now my niece got transferred to Santa Monica and she lives on the border of L.A. and Orange County. Her father drove her there to work last week and says it is terrible it looks like a ghost town. It is really sad because there is so much violence in that area now. My Friends and I used to hang out there during the 80's especially on Melrose Ave where you would see Rock Stars hanging out. SAD!!!

I love Agua Caliente Hotel and Casino and every time during the winter we shop at the Macy's at the mall in Palm Desert for Christmas. I remember when my father and my uncle Manuel would take my mom and my aunt Ella to eat in Indian Wells. My mother loved Indian Wells. I love going to the desert we just got back last week in July and stayed Agua for 2 nights. My whole family went, and I got lucky playing a $1.00 machine the first night and hit $7,500 I have never won that much in my life. Have a good one Tommy If I find a place I will call you for sure. I lived in Bermuda Dunes on 42nd av back in 02 03 I loved it. Surprisingly cold at night in the desert. Everybody drives 70 on residential roads no streetlights anywhere kinda weird jogging at night in the dark. Gotta have a car everything is far apart. But overall I loved it.

I noticed you glossed over the comment about homeless folks. I'm curious how the city/county is handling homeless people there? I know that we're going to have homeless people, but some cities are better than others at balancing the quality of life for those are in society and those who choose to live outside of society. Some cities are great at helping those folks that want help while keeping their streets and parks nice for the community, but some cities seem to prioritize folks who choose to live on the street.

Please do not book at a La Quinta! I booked at a LQ thinking everything would be ok. I called ahead of time, they had my reservation information. I thought everything was ok. When I arrived the location was closed they were not accepting bookings. I couldn't even get in the front door! I had to sleep in my rental car because of LQ (By the way there was a 115° heat advisory where I was at) They still have not refunded my $300 deposit on the room I booked for 2 adults for 2 nights. They won't answer my calls. Do not go to LQ!!!!

I go in july every year. I love the sun 😅 ! Golf pools relax! Not to mention the sunset is incredible!

Hey Tommy! Great video as always! My husband and I are planning to move to the Coachella Valley sometime in the next year or so. (I WILL be calling you when we’re ready to make the leap! 😊) I have a question regarding the heat. We currently live in San Luis Obispo county in an area that can get to about 115 some days out of the summer. During those times, we are running our air conditioners 24/7. Since the temperatures are seemingly that hot for the entirety of the summer months there… Is everyone’s air conditioning basically running nonstop for months? 😅

Can you do a video on "bikeability" towns/communities? More of a cruiser here than a bike racer LOL.

Rumor has it in Palm Springs a lot of HOA new purchasers in condos always want to update and spend money on landscaping compared to the old people there that are on a fixed budget and or retired and do not like change...I here about it time and time again from friends with condos in Palm Springs...I just think it a good idea to know if the condo is full of older retired or a mixed bag which seems to cause problems at times...Just my thought

Tommy you are the best. I plan to sell the condo soon. So, I can buy out in the Palm Springs area, or I really love Bermuda Dunes. It kind of reminds me of Riverside, California where you can get a lot of land for a decent price. Thanks, Tommy for the Info.

I have a 2 bedroom and 2 bath Condo that I rent out for 1500 a month. I pay $310.00 a month and they really keep it up with painting, roofing, new washer and dryers every 5 or 6 years and the yard upkeep. My renters love it they have a daughter who works at Knotts Berry Farm which is 10 minutes away.

Palm Springs has become a rat race on a smaller scale.

I’d been to Palm Springs three times in the summer. Then I had the chance to experience the season. I wanted to see how much more busy the city seemed in January. It felt about the same to me. Zero traffic jams, no problems getting anywhere.

If the house you buy with already installed solar panels... which you only want if they are OWNED, not leased ones or the seller prepays the entire lease, be sure they were installed prior to April, 2023, which qualifies you for NEM 2. This means Edison has to pay you the same rate they charge you. It's worthless to install solar after April, 2023 when Edison kicked in NEM 3, where they pay you almost nothing for the electric you send back to rhe grid. The only workaround is buying battery storage...Tesla Powerwalls, so you can use it at high rate times and not sell it to Edison for a tiny amount.

Hey Tommy. Wow, that Edison statement is really incredible. Your savings after the solar panels were installed are huge. Can you do a future video on getting solar panels out here in the desert? What to look out for? How long does it take to install? Any damage to your roof tiles? Do you have to clean them if they get covered with dust? Any regrets or things you would do differently? Thanks Tommy! I’m a retired real estate agent from Northern Va. I did my homework for 5 years before choosing to move to the Coachella Valley. I enjoy your videos. The only thing you may have wanted to possibly mention are HOA cost. We choose a single family home in a 55 and older community. In Indio we have IID plus our HOA at the time was affordable. The area is growing by leaps and bounds making our investment almost double in the 9 years we purchased our new home. Don’t miss living just outside the beltway at all!!
